Text that illustrates using prepositions of movement

I work in an office block in Saharova street.  Our office is on the 5^th floor.   I usually get to work by bus #27.   I get off near Stryiskiy park and go through the park to Saharova street.  I cross Striyska street near traffic light and then keep going down Saharova street. I walk past “Furshet”  supermarket and in 3 minutes I’m at the entrance door of our office block. I go upstairs to the 5^th floor because it is no elevator( lift) in the building.

I work till 6 o’clock.  Usually I stay at work later, till 6:30 or 7 pm.  But on Monday I have  English class after work.  So, I leave the office at 6:05 or 6:10.  I go down the stairs to the 1^st floor.  Then I go down Saharova street to the corner  with Knyagini Olgi street.

On my way down the street I pass by the student hostels. They are on my left.   In 5 minutes I come to the corner of Saharova-Kniagini Olgi streets.  A small wooden church is across the road.   I cross Kniagini Olgi street near the tram stop, turn left and go along this street to “Nova Oselya” buildings. 

Activitity-1: Describe how do you get to work:

Do you go to work by bus or by car? Do you drive to work?

How long time do you go to the bus stop?

What bus do you get on? 

At what bus stop do you get off the bus?

What street do you go down on your way to work?

Actitivity-2 : Explaing how to get to places in Lviv.

 Imagine that I'm a tourist who has just come to Lviv. I am at the railwaystaion( trainsation) now. I need to get to Opera House and then to Shevchenko monument and then to Market Square and then to High Castle and then to Stryiskiy park.  Explain me how to get to these places.

-Як пройти до супермаркету АТБ?

-Йдіть прямо по цій вулиці і через 5 хвилин поверніть праворуч- там побачите

-Дякуємо.

-Будь ласка

-Вибачте, чи не підкажете де знаходиться Оперний театр?

-Йдіть  по вулиці Дорошенка, проходьте трамвайну зупинку, доходите до перехрестя з проспектом Свободи. Там ви побачите пам'ятник Шевченку. Перейдіть дорогу біля світлофора, підійдіть до пам'ятника і поверніть наліво. Ви побачите алею. В кінці алеї ви побачите Оперний театр. Я можу проводити вас, якщо хочете.

-Дуже дякую.  Ми знайдемо самі.

-Прошу дуже.

  

-Як дістатися до центру?

-Ви можете йти пішки. До центру півгодини ходьби.

-Спасибі, ми б все таки хотіли поїхати на автобусі.

Ок. Автобусна зупинка ... он там прямо ... через 200 метрів. Сідайте на автобус 3 або на трамвай №6 та їдьте три зупинки до центру.
